<description><![CDATA[Michael “Mike” Archer, age 53, died at his home in Antigo today, Feb. 14, 2012.  He was under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice.  

He was born July 4, 1958 in Antigo, son of John Dale and Jane (Monihan) Archer.  He married Kayla Andes on June 28, 2010.  

Mr. Archer served in the US Army National Guard.  He was employed at Copp’s, SK Williams, and also worked as a floor cleaner.  

He was a coin collector and enjoyed finding interesting items on ebay.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially swimming, bass fishing, watching deer, and staying at the cabin in Minocqua.  

Survivors include his wife, Kayla Archer of Antigo; parents, John Dale and Jane Archer of Antigo; a daughter, Katrina Archer of Antigo; 2 sons, Robert Archer (special friend Sherry Thiel) of Elcho, and Steven Archer (special friend Toby Ann Strasser), of Antigo; a step-daughter, Chassity Andes of Antigo; a step-son, Corey Andes of Antigo; a sister, Debbie Archer of Antigo; 2 brothers, Larry (Wanda) Archer of Antigo, and Brian (Susan) Archer of Wittenberg; 7 grandchildren, Chelsea Racine, Zachary Archer, Aaron Archer, Jordan, Taylor, Dylan, and Christine; nieces and nephews, Tom Archer, Larry Archer II, Karen Reichert, Amanda Parsons, David Archer, Amber Archer, Sherri Archer, Stefani Ponce and Chelsea Archer; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Cassandra Marco; paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Fern and Paul Peterson; paternal grandfather, John Archer; maternal grandparents, Hattie and Tom Monihan; aunt and uncles, Alice and Abe Prins, Frank Monihan, Marge and Ted Koskowski, and Harold Archer; and a great-nephew, Scotty John Archer.

A funeral  service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Geary officiating.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday.  Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.  Local veterans will perform military honors.  A memorial will be established in Michael’s name.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_115283.jpg" alt="Patricia Allen" />Patricia Allen, 77 of White Lake died February 14, 2012 at Nu Roc Community Health Care Center in Laona. Mrs. Allen was born on February 1, 1935 in Keshena to the late William and Helen (Williams) Tourtillott . She married Robert “Rex” Allen on March 6, 1964. He survives.

Mrs. Allen was a self- employed book keeper and also served on the White Lake School board for many years. She was a tribal member of the Wyandotte.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Debbie (Tom) Elst of Antigo, 3 sons, Rocky (Vanna) Hill of White Lake, Robert Hill of Irvine, CA and Jay (Mary) Allen of Milwaukee, 8 grandchilren Erin, Nikki, Ryan, and Robert (Amanda) Hill, Lisa (Clifton) Strong, Rebecca Gillespie, Lee (special friend Rick) Allen and Rex Allen, and a great grandson AJ Strong.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amanda.

In accordance with Mrs. Allen’s wishes no services will be held.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_115196.jpg" alt="Helen Beverly Pecha" />Helen Beverly Pecha, age 92, of Oregon, WI and formerly of Mattoon died February 13, 2012 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living Center in Oregon.

Mrs. Pecha was born July 19, 1919 in Antigo to the late Emil and Amanda (Koch) Shank.
She married Albert E. Pecha on June 28, 1941 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1983. 

Mrs. Pecha graduated form Antigo High School in 1934 and the Rural Normal School of Langlade County in 1938. She was employed by the Unified School District of Antigo for many years as a teacher’s aid at Mattoon School and continued her passion for children participating in the Tiny Explorer’s Program and the Foster Grandparent Program.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon where she was a member of their Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school.

Mrs. Pecha enjoyed being a grandmother and great grandmother and was a gifted flower gardener. She loved to do crossword puzzles, bake sugar cookies, do embroidery, and watch the Brewers and Packers.

Survivors include 2 daughters Sharon (Gary) Newman of Mequon, WI and Naples, FL and Janice Pecha Carney of Oregon, WI, a son Marcus (Sandra) of Stevens Point, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ione Wheeler of Antigo, Adeline (Gary) Kieper of Antigo, and Phyllis (Tom) Hunchusky of Illinois, and a brother Eugene (Jean) Shank of Antigo, WI. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Ruby Gresch and a brother Rueben Shank.

Funeral services will be on Friday at 11:30am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon.
Reverend Dean Bertsch will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 until the service at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Mattoon.

A memorial will be established in Mrs. Pecha’s name.

<title>Rose Menting [01/13/1921 - 02/10/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_115106.jpg" alt="Rose Menting" />Rose Menting, of Elcho died Friday peacefully at her home. She was 91. 

Mrs. Menting was born January 13, 1921 in Antigo a daughter of the late John and Mary (Wield) Birtzel. She married Orville Menting in 1937 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1997. 

The Mentings lived in Waukesha from 1941 until returning to Antigo in 1986. 

Mrs. Menting worked as a nursing assistant for more than 20 years and was a housekeeping supervisor at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Christian Mothers Society while in Waukesha and was a member of Ss. Mary &amp; Hyacinth’s in Antigo. 

Mrs. Menting was a great cook, often entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and crossword puzzles. She loved to spend time with her family and taking care of her great grandchildren. She was always willing to lend a hand with all those do it yourself projects. 

Survivors include a daughter Betty (Thomas A.) Vahl of Pearson, 3 sons, Gerald (Mary) of Milwaukee, Larry of Arkansas, Tim (Donna) of Waukesha, 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Loretta Holup of Antigo, Irene (Jim) Patteson of Ohio, and Clara Bemis of Stoughton. She was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, a granddaughter, a daughter in law, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers. 

A memorial mass for Mrs. Menting will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at Ss. Mary &amp; Hyacinth&#039;s Catholic Church. Father William Brunner will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the mass at the church. 

Private entombment will be in Queen of Peace Columbarium at a later date.

<title>Ernest Geiger [09/26/1938 - 02/09/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_115106.jpg" alt="Rose Menting" />Ernest “Ernie” H. Geiger died at his home February 9, 2012.   He was 73 years old.  
He was born September 26, 1938 in Aniwa, son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Strasser) Geiger.  He married Carol Dey in 1968 in Waukegan, IL, she survives.

Mr. Geiger served in Korean War in the U. S. Army.  He was a TV repairman and was a newspaper carrier for the Antigo Daily Journal, the Green Bay Press Gazette, Wausau Daily Herald and the Chicago Tribune.  He had also worked at Tecumseh.  He returned to Antigo in 1974 after spending years in New Holstein, and in New Mexico.  He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
He was an amateur Ham Radio operator and enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to the casino.  He was a very caring man and had a good sense of humor.  He especially liked time playing with his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff (Tracy) Geiger, Antigo and Greg (Jody) Geiger, Elcho; granddaughters, Destiny and Vanessa; a sister, Lorraine Fondow, Antigo;  brothers, Lyle (Janice) Geiger and Gerald (Janice) Geiger, Aniwa, Arthur Geiger, Milwaukee, and William Geiger, Briggsville.   He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters,  Renae Mattmiller and June Ryan; brothers, Charlie, Milton, Henry and Edwin Geiger.
Funeral services will be at Calvary Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Nancy Richmond will officiate.  
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Strasser-Roller Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Tuesday. Military honors will follow the service.
Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.

<title>Beverly Shuhmacher [08/31/1940 - 02/08/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_114809.jpg" alt="Beverly Shuhmacher" />Beverly  Schuhmacher  died February 8, 2012 at Langlade Hospital under  LeRoyer Hospice care.  She was born August 31, 1940 in Rockford, IL to the late Robert and Helen (Phillips) Lester.   She married George Schuhmacher in 1956; they divorced in 1979 but had remained friends through the years.
She moved to Antigo in the spring of 1977 where she was a homemaker and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.   Ms.  Schuhmacher was a 4-H leader, Girl Scout leader, enjoyed baking and was a good cook.  She also very much enjoyed having her grandchildren and great- grandchild with her. Being an animal lover she had many pets over the years.
Survivors include four daughters, Wannetta  (John) Messer, Antigo, Jeannette (Leslie Menting) Schuhmacher, Antigo, Brenda (Patrick) Mosher, Antigo and Bridgette (Jason) Boehm, Wausau; two sons, Pedro (Mary) Schuhmacher, Antigo and Blake (Tina) Schuhmacher, Antigo; eight grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren; survived also by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Lee Niles and a great granddaughter, Leona Niles.
A graveside service will be held at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford, IL on Tuesday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_114771.jpg" alt="Mary Laura Klooz" />Mary Laura Klooz,  age 78 of Haslett, MI died February 7, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Klooz was born June 23, 1933 in White Lake to the lat Thurman and Leotta (Eldridge) Tackett.  On August 12, 1950 she married Robert Roberts at Four Corners Assembly of God Church, they later divorced.

Mrs. Klooz was a homemaker and also fostered many children in the Lansing area.
She was an avid and gifted gardener and made beautiful flower arrangements.

Mrs. Klooz is survived by 6 sons; Jerome “Jerry” (Bonnie) Roberts of White Lake, Randy (Linda) Roberts of Elton, Alberto “Bob” Roberts of White Lake, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Roberts of White Lake, John Wesley Dean of San Bernardino, CA, and Melvin Roberts of Byron, MI; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Eileen Watson of Greenville, LaVonn (Hubert) Bricco of Beach Park, IL and Jackie Holbrook of White Lake, and a brother  Herman (Laurie) Tackett of Phlox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Mark and a daughter-in-law, JoAnn.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake. Reverend Marvin Kindle will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the church. Interment will be in Elton Cemetery.

<title>Virginia Smith [04/11/1927 - 02/07/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_114774.jpg" alt="Virginia Smith" />Virginia Sophie Smith, age 84, died Tuesday at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice.

Mrs. Smith was born in Chicago on April 11, 1927 to the late John and Anna Wodarski. 

On August 28, 1948, she married Albert Vern Smith in Chicago, IL.  He survives.  The couple lived in Chicago then moved to Antigo in 1973.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and also worked at the canning factory, Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, and area potato farms.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed making crafts.  She especially loved ceramics.  She loved the company of friends and family and playing cards. She was also fond of trips to the casino.

She was a member of SS. Mary &amp; Hyacinth Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Donna Siegman of Antigo; 4 sons, David (Rinda) of Phoenix, AZ, Donald (Joan) of Wausau, Robert (Donna) of Sheboygan, and Michael (Debbie) of Phoenix, AZ; 20 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and a son-in-law Ronnie Spencer.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Mary &amp; Hyacinth. Father William Brunner will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with a parish wake service at 4:00.  A second visitation will be 9:15-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_114810.jpg" alt="Robert &quot;Bob&quot; G. Steidl " />Robert “Bob” G. Steidl, of Aniwa, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at his home.  He was 51 years old.  

He was born Dec. 20, 1960 in Merton, son of Barb and the late Dale Steidl.  He married Deb Verbanac on April 21, 1979.  She survives.  

Mr. Steidl was employed as a machinist at Timber Pro in Shawano.   He enjoyed motocross racing with his son DJ and swimming with his daughter Alisha.  

Survivors include his wife, Deb; mother, Barb (Jack) Padinger; a daughter, Alisha (Dallas) Davis of Antigo; a son DJ (Deanna) Steidl of Wausau; 2 brothers, Brent (Debbie) Steidl of Stone Bank, and Bruce (Linda) Steidl of Birnamwood; 3 grandchildren, Tommy, Genesis, and Derek; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Steidl, and a brother, Bill.  

A funeral will take place at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor James Reed officiating.  Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

<title>Helen Elizabeth (Ziber) Smith [12/01/1945 - 01/28/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://strasserrollerfh.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/75_114018.jpg" alt="Helen Elizabeth (Ziber) Smith" />Helen Elizabeth (Ziber) Smith, 66, passed away peacefully January 28, 2012 at her home, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family.
 
She was born December 1, 1945 in Chicago, IL, to Henry and Therese (Schweihs) Ziber. After graduating from Antigo High School in 1963, she traveled the United States and Spain. In 2005, Helen retired after serving 23 years with the Department of Defense as a computer system analyst. Helen returned to Antigo after retirement. Helen also became involved with eBay and its community of volunteers during the 1990&#039;s. She was well known for her dedication and involvement with the eBay community, meeting and having friends all over the world. She was recognized by eBay for demonstrating a strong commitment to the eBay Community by being awarded the &quot;eBay Community Hall Of Fame Award of 2007. Helen&#039;s eBay moniker of &quot;Giraffer&quot;, which she is widely known by in the EBay community, resulted from her love of giraffes exhibited by her vast collection of Giraffe&#039;s. In 2010 Helen retired as an active eBay seller, but continued her involvement with the eBay online community until her death.
 

While living in Salt Lake City, Utah, she had the opportunity to volunteer for and then work at the Curling events held during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending Fuddfest, watching her great-nephew race, listening to country music, spending time with her dog Meg, listening to Enya, watching the Phantom of the Opera and her favorite movie ’An Affair To Remember’, along with being a wonderful Grandmother and Aunt.

 
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn (Greg) Simons, Bremerton, WA and Faith (Lee) Hamm, Longview, TX; five grandchildren, Zack Simons, Shelby Rice, Johnathon, Sean and Haleigh Hamm; two sisters, Mary (Babe) Banczak, Antigo, WI, Rita (Richard) Schroeder, Wrightstown, WI, and three brothers, Joe (Barbara) Ziber, El Cajon, CA, Tom Ziber, Antigo, WI, and Pete Ziber, Wausau, WI.

 
In addition to her parents, her brother, Henry “Hank” Ziber, preceded her in death.


In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to LeRoyer Hospice, 112 East Fifth Avenue, Antigo, WI. 54409 or any local hospice.
