John “Jack” W. Eder, 73, of Antigo died peacefully Sunday at his home under the loving care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice.
Jack was born June 26, 1937 to the late Ben and Gertrude (Yancy) Eder in Antigo. Jack graduated from Antigo High School and went on to attend University of Wisconsin Stout and Spencerian Business College. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard and was called to duty during the Berlin Crisis.
On August 6, 1960 Jack and Barbara Ochs were united in marriage in Antigo.
Mr. Eder was a dedicated life long resident of Antigo. He was an active businessman, owning and operating Jack Eder Insulation and subsequently expanding the business to include Jack Eder Window Glass Works. Jack had a passion for the outdoors including hunting, fishing and skiing and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the cabin with family and friends.
His greatest pleasures revolved around spending time with his family and grandchildren and he was loved and treasured by them very much. He was an honest, caring man who had a heart for others as he cherished his many close friendships and provided much needed support and assistance to those in need.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Jack is survived by 2 sons; Michael (Diane) of Wausau and David of CA; a sister; Jane (Alan) Lanteri of FL; 2 brothers Ben of Antigo and Richard of CA; 3 grandchildren; Jack M. Eder, Anika Eder, and Lindsey Eder. Jack was preceded in death by a sister Doris.
